Accounting Clerk

Interior Exterior Building Supply, the number one commercial and residential building material supplier in the Southeast, is searching for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team!

Interior Exterior Building Supply is headquartered in New Orleans with over 32 branches located throughout the region. This position will be responsible for multiple day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter able to work with minimum supervision; detail oriented; team player and willing to help where help is needed; proactive and forward thinker; interested in personal growth!

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare daily bank deposits and post payments to customer accounts
• Identify discrepancies between payments and receivable amounts
• Verify accuracy of PO receipts, PO costing through Accounts Payable
• Get approvals on G&A expenses, code and enters invoices into Accounts Payable
• Run weekly cash requirements and disbursements report
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in vendor accounts
• Prepare journal entries, adjusting and correcting entries, accruals and reversing entries, including supporting documentation and appropriate descriptions;
• Reconcile monthly bank statements.
• Support company policies and assist management where necessary

Required Skills/Abilities

• Associate degree in Accounting + 2 years’ experience OR 4 years accounting/administrative experience
• Knowledge and ability to use MS Office Suite
• Experience with distribution software a plus
• Be able to work autonomously as well as within a group
• Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate with various levels of management
• Must have good organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
