Purpose:

The Regulatory Specialist supports product safety and legal compliance regarding global chemical regulations in product development across the supply chain. Responsibilities include providing product stewardship support regarding regulatory issues for the company's products and market applications and ensuring the efficient completion of product stewardship deliverables, including answering customer requests related to regulatory compliance.

Job Functions/Accountabilities:

• Processing customer inquiries regarding regulatory affairs and product safety.
• Review of raw material and acquisition of relevant regulatory documents from vendors.
• Preparation of declarations of conformity:
  1. Product formulary disclosures
  2. Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  3. ADI
  4. BfR-food contact
  5. CMR substances
  6. CONEG
  7. Conflict Minerals
  8. DOT, IATA, IMDG
  9. FDA
  10. Nitrosamines
  11. PFAS/PFOA/PFOS
  12. REACH (SVHC/banned substances/SCIP) and global equivalents
  13. RoHS/WEE
  14. IMDS - Automotive - GADSL
  15. TSCA
  16. US California Prop 65
  17. Others as legislation is enacted
• Maintenance of the database with supplier-specific information for the preparation of declarations of conformity.
• Communication with all ZEON sites.
• Maintains and improves systems, processes, and procedures for product compliance.
• Stays current on new and changing regulations.
• Assists global team in classifying products, including GHS and DOT/dangerous goods.
• Collaborates with other functions as needed to ensure compliance.
• Prepares and submits product registrations or reports to regulatory bodies as assigned.
• Participates in industry associations as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience:

• 2+ years of regulatory affairs or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in the Rubber Industry strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of TSCA, OSHA Hazard Communication, and/or DOT HMR.

Special Qualifications:

• Industry Accreditation (SDSRP, CHMM, CDGP) a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Ability to work accurately under operational timelines.
