Summary:
Responsible for the care, maintenance, and efficient operation of facilities and equipment. Has extensive knowledge of facility functions, electrical engineering, HVAC maintenance, electro/mechanical maintenance, repair and vehicle maintenance. May work in areas such as carpentry, construction, plumbing, electrical, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
Responsibilities/Skills:
§ Makes improvements in machinery and equipment to support manufacturing methods.
§ Is responsible for current equipment records and the physical inventory, storage, and distribution of all facilities equipment.
§ Inspects and performs minor general equipment and facilities maintenance.
§ Maintains responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the facility and the transportation fleet.
§ Maintains up to date Project Status and Task Status; communicates the status weekly to the Company in a pre-designated format
§ Performs repairs and maintenance in warehouse, office facilities or machines and equipment.
§ Using appropriate hand and power tools, performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
§ Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
§ Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
§ Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
§ Installs, routes and maintains the wiring and cable systems for the entire building’s burgler, fire, computer, telephone, security and other systems.
§ Controls the heating and air conditioning systems and wiring.
§ Performs other duties as assigned.

§ Assignments are in task and objective oriented terms.
§ Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
§ Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
§ Administers and executes policies and procedures. Considerable knowledge of the job and specialized functions.
§ Complete and comprehensive acquaintance with and understanding of all aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems.
§ Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new or special assignments.
Knowledge/Requirements:
§ 8+ years experience in maintenance, use, and/or inventory of facilities and equipment.
§ Good communications ability, both verbal and written.
§ Possession of a valid state driver's license.
§ Ability to interact positively with faculty and staff.
§ H.S. Diploma and completion of formal apprenticeship preferred, or combination of experience and training.
§ A common-sense approach to problem solving is required.
