Production Planner

SpecCoat (Specialized Coating Services) is a well-established and growing manufacturing company located in Fremont.  SpecCoat specializes in the conformal coating and encapsulation (potting) of printed circuit board assemblies. 

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Planner & Material Planner to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing both production scheduling and material planning to ensure the seamless flow of operations and the availability of materials to meet production requirements without shortages or excessive inventory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in production planning and material management.

Job Description

·        Develop and drive production schedules to meet customer requirements and delivery deadlines.

·        Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Account Managers, Engineering, Production Procurement, and Quality, to ensure timely workflow and efficient resource allocation.

·        Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with purchasing to ensure adequate stock levels for production.

·        Analyze production specifications and capacity to identify constraints and optimize production efficiency.

·        Identify potential production issues and propose solutions to minimize disruptions and delays.

·        Continuously evaluate and improve production planning processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

·        Collaborate closely with purchasing and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials and components to support production schedules.

·        Establish and maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for materials based on production needs and lead times.

·        Identify potential material shortages or delays and proactively address these issues to prevent disruptions in production.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.

·        Proven experience in production planning and material planning roles within a manufacturing environment.

·        Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams effectively.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

·        Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
