Village Health Partners (now a part of Catalyst Health Group) is a well-established primary care practice committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to our community. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a compassionate and supportive environment. We have offices in Plano, Frisco, and McKinney. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to join our team at our Plano Independence office.

The Dietitian will play a crucial role in providing nutrition counseling and education to patients of all ages, helping them make informed choices to support their health and wellness goals. The Dietitian provides counseling and education through in-person and virtual Medical Nutrition Therapy on various topics including obesity and bariatric surgery, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, renal disease, gastrointestinal disease, sports nutrition, cancer, pediatric nutrition, and nutrition and lifestyle wellness. The Dietitian also provides a variety of educational services related to promoting the health and wellness of the community Village Health Partners serves.

This position will be hybrid with 2 remote and 3 onsite days. Fully onsite for the first 30 days.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and meet monthly with Dietitian department to collaborate on challenging clinical cases and provide accurate, consistent, cohesive messaging across the Village Health Partners practice
  • Demonstrate appropriate engagement and empathy with patients of diverse backgrounds and health conditions
  • Identify patient stages of readiness to change and provide empirically supported skill-based strategies to promote long-term behavior change
  • Provide in-person and virtual Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients to help them develop eating and lifestyle habits that support their disease management and promote their best health
  • Collaborate with staff physicians and Advanced Practice Providers as needed for continuity of care
  • Develop and implement measurable nutrition goals according to best practices and evaluate desired outcomes
  • Communicate appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data in the electronic medical record providing assessment of patients' progress or setbacks in treatment
  • Communicate with in-office staff to provide data required for billing and scheduling purposes in a timely manner
  • Serve as a nutrition resource for the community when requested
  • Ensure the accurate calculation of nutritional needs based upon individual therapeutic need
  • Independently develop educational materials for patients, organize and teach classes as the subject matter expert to a variety of audiences as needed
  • Write nutrition articles and create recipes for Village Health Partners blogs and newsletters
  • Easily transition between patients in a high-volume practice to ensure smooth daily patient flow
  • Follow all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures

Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • State licensure in Texas
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a U.S. accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
  • Credentialed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) through the Commission for Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Motivational patient interviewing skills and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to work independently and comfortable with managing multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of the disease processes and interdisciplinary management of a variety of disease conditions such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, and neurological disorders
  • Strong work ethic and continuous independent activity to stay abreast of current research and practices as they apply to the diverse family practice population that is served
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules in a clinical setting and enforce all applicable HIPAA rules
