Job Description
The Quality Manager will manage and drive all aspects of the corrective action preventive action process towards the goal of reducing quality events and out-of-specification products. This position will assure compliance with food safety and quality standards throughout our West Haven CT and Orange sites.

Auditing is a MUST, as s/he will run all the FDA/USDA/all 3rd party audits across the state of CT. BRC experience would be really good. HAACP cert ideal.

Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 4 years related experience
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.Comply with all
  • safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources

Responsibilities
  • Organize, coordinate, monitor, and champion the Quality System and Food Safety Systems in accordance with BRC requirements – Pre-requisite programs, HACCP, FSMA, and Food Quality plans
  • Leader of the Quality Pillar and driver of continuous improvements for Zero quality defects utilizing GPS tools and principles.
  • Provide leadership and support to ensure all our internal and external processes are fully capable to deliver premium products to customers on a timely basis.
  • PCQI Practitioner for the site, overseeing the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the BRC programs with annual review and responsible for validating any changes to the Food Safety and Food Quality Plans
  • Ensure customer specifications are being met and manage complaint investigations and customer responses.
  • Participate in all State, FDA, USDA, PMO, and other third-party audits ensuring corrective actions are completed and documented.
  • Work with plant management to track plant Quality performance to key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Ensure employees have adequate knowledge of GMPs and Food Safety programs and supervise that training is completed per requirements and is effective.
  • Responsible for documentation and corrective actions involving Quality Systems
  • Coordinate timely responses on customer opportunities and implement corrective and preventative actions according to site priorities
  • NCRs are issued, investigated, the root cause is determined/documented and they are closed on time with appropriate and effective corrective action/resolutions
  • Follow up and document that preventative actions are in place and working effectively.
  • Coordinates with internal teams on corrective/preventative action plans and Non-Conformance Report
  • Updates NCRs in a quality system with appropriate action plans.
  • Reports on CAPA and NCR status to management groups
