Job description

Design West Technologies Inc. of Tustin, CA has an immediate need for a Mechanical-Engineering Intern for late Summer/early Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to R&D projects for the Department of Defense. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN AT DWT

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will participate in R&D development and testing chem-bio-rad-nuclear (CBRN) and weapon systems and components, support drawing and documentation updates, support proposal activities, develop 3D models of parts or fixtures using SolidWorks, document machine set up processes and recommend improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing or recent graduate B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or similar engineering discipline
  • Motivated to learn and work in a team
  • Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word
  • Well organized, capable of gathering and organizing
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
