Job Description

TITLE: Senior Director of Community-Based Clubs

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations

CLASSIFICATION: Salary, Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Generally, Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5:00 PM

(Some weekend work on Special Event days)

POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees programs and operations of all Community-based Clubs including but not limited to Club programs, safety, member outcomes, key metrics, and employee training and development. The SDCBC will supervise Area Directors, Camp Deep Pond, Facilities, and Fleet. The position will also manage and administer assigned grants and staff committees.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Leads the development and implementation of organizational program goals, in relation to need and available resources.
  • Develops/assists in the development of budgets for each program and special projects and administers such expenditures.
  • Supports and supervises the work of assigned Area Directors and other staff in achieving program goals by providing technical assistance in program design and implementation, achieving companywide goals and objectives, leadership/management, and staff development.
  • Evaluates overall programs in relation to participation and achievement of program goals.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates the departments’ staff development including recruitment, selection, evaluation, and training.
  • Plans and implements a staff development and training program.
  • Manages and assists Area Directors and Unit Directors with fleet safety and maintenance programs.
  • Oversees and/or supervises the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and other facilities ensuring buildings are in top shape and safe at all times.
  • Reporting, training, and other duties as assigned.
  • Handle special projects as needed.

Partnership Development and Relationships

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to build and sustain relationships between the organization and its internal and external strategic partners.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth-serving organizations, members, parents, families, and community organizations.
  • Participate in activities to maintain good public relations for Club programs, services, and activities.
  • Maintain close contact with assigned Directors, Club staff, and other internal partners. Contact Board members and volunteers when requested by the Executive Team.
  • Provide technical assistance in matters of programming and operations.
  • Maintain applicable contact with Boys & Girls Club of America, vendors, and other nonprofit organizations, potential and current donors, external community groups, and others as required.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required or 10 years of Boys & Girls Clubs experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
  • Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test.

SUPERVISORY: Area Directors

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position generally works M – F, 9 – 5 PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary. The position requires external in-person meetings with potential business partners and will require travel to and from meetings within Northeast Florida. This is a hybrid position with the ability to work remotely. Limited overnight travel may be required.
