Position Purpose
Ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety, including Annandale Policy and Procedures and licensing requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or AA Degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 8 years’ experience in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred.
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
Facilitates Annandale Safety Committee Meetings, documents safety-related projects and reports progress to QAPI committee.
Maintains all paperwork in preparation for Safety related inspections
Sets schedule for quarterly fire drills; facilitates these drills and completes follow-up paperwork.
Facilitates emergency response drills, including mass evacuation and sheltering in place.
Serve as main point of contact during non-clinical campus emergencies.
Attends Gwinnett County and regional emergency disaster preparedness meetings. Updates Emergency Response Plan policy as needed and conducts staff training based on meeting information.
With assistance from the Compliance Director, updates the current Annandale Safety and Security Program and Emergency Response Plan.
Available to answer safety/security related licensing/contract surveyor questions.
Conducts Annandale emergency disaster preparedness policy training and Transportation and Safe Driving training and state mandated fire safety/disaster preparedness training during orientation.
Reviews the Transportation and Safe Driving Policy with new employees during of orientation.
Maintains the following agreements: sheltering/transfer agreements with Hi-Hope and Gwinnett Medical; Annandale’s Closed POD (inoculation site for vaccinations for Villagers, employees and family members in the event of a public health emergency) Memorandum of Understanding with Gwinnet County Board of Health; Food/Water vendor plan/agreement.
Maintains Annandale’s emergency disaster supplies. Orders new supplies or coordinates GEMA/FEMA grant purchases.
Serves as the Office of Inspector General Safety Officer for the Nursing Home
Works with Nursing Home staff to implement the new emergency disaster preparedness rules.
Works with the Compliance Director to complete safety-related incident report investigations.
Attends all required and assigned trainings and meetings.
Performs other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to ensure the highest level of Safety for all Villagers, Staff, guests and vendors on property.

- Employee is required to transport (drive) and assist Villagers in and out of vehicles.
- Employee is required to perform CPR/First Aid.
