At Lighthouse Autism Center (LAC), we combine our values and clinical expertise to provide collaborative, compassionate care in order to promote the best outcomes for our learners. We believe that it is essential for the services we provide to progress alongside the ever-evolving field of ABA. In doing so, we utilize naturalistic teaching strategies, assent & trauma-informed care, and frequent, combined meetings amongst professionals (BCBAs, SLPs, & OTs) on staff to create and maintain comprehensive treatment packages. We’re now adding even more to our multidisciplinary team and are searching for a Developmental Preschool Teacher to join us!
As a Developmental Preschool Teacher at LAC, you’ll have the unique opportunity to combine best practices in the classroom with ABA strategies to mirror a school-like environment for our learners who are on the path to transition into a less-restrictive environment. You’ll collaborate with Registered Behavior Technicians to implement dynamic learning opportunities, while assisting BCBAs on staff in determining intervention strategies to help our learners reach optimal outcomes. Responsibilities include:
- Maintain license as teacher
- Oversee group programming within the center including:
o Materials
o Curriculum
o Teaching procedure
o Training - Assist with school transitions
- Attend IEP meetings, if applicable
- Consult with clinical managers on programming related to school transitions
- Consult with clinical managers on recommendations for school transitions
- Provide training as needed to therapists and clinical managers
- Consult with parents on school transitions and recommendations

To be considered, you must possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field
- Must hold active Special Education License in IN
or
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Must hold active Teaching License in IN
- Minimum 1 year of experience in working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- For this role, you will be required to become certified as a Registered Behavior Technician – training and exam fees are paid for by LAC
