Master Mechanic

Job Summary:
The Master Mechanic at International Kia Orland Park is responsible for performing advanced automotive repairs and maintenance services on various makes and models. This is a full-time, salaried position in the auto industry located in Orland Hills, Illinois. As the Master Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing complex mechanical issues, overseeing and training other technicians, and ensuring all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations.

Compensation & Benefits:
This is a highly competitive position with a salary range of $85,000 to $125,000 per year, paid biweekly. Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced automotive repairs and maintenance services on various makes and models, including but not limited to engine, transmission, electrical, and brake systems
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues and develop effective repair plans
- Use diagnostic equipment and computer systems to accurately identify and address vehicle problems
- Oversee and train other technicians to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety regulations
- Keep up to date with industry advancements, technology, and training to continuously improve skills and knowledge
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols
- Communicate with customers to explain repairs and estimated costs, as well as provide recommendations for preventative maintenance
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records for all repairs and service performed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Master Mechanic in the automotive industry
- ASE certification in multiple areas, including engine repair, automatic transmission/transaxle, and electrical/electronic systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computer systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently and effectively
- Strong leadership skills and experience training and overseeing other technicians
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed
