About Crossway Church

Crossway Church, formerly Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, began its forty-third year of ministry in 2023, while Dr. Ron Jones began his ninth year of ministry at the church as the fourth Lead Pastor.

The church will complete a major campus renovation this summer (2024) in addition to implementing continued ministry revitalization and church planting initiatives at home and around the world.

Additionally, Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones is a daily radio outreach that extends Rons Bible teaching for everyday life across the United States and globally. A large majority of new people who come to Crossway Church first hear about the church on Something Good Radio locally. The church has enlarged its media outreach through live stream and anticipates the soon release of Something Good Television (SGTV).

About This Position

Believing life change happens best in the context of authentic, biblical community as described in Acts 2:42-47, the Discipleship and Community Life Pastor at Crossway Church is a people-gatherer who oversees all aspects of community life and discipleship as it happens through our primary discipleship environments, including community groups, neighborhood groups, and discipleship coaching.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be the resident community life champion, people-gatherer, and disciple maker by fulfilling our mission to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ who go and make disciples.
• Help people assimilate into the life of Crossway Church by get connected in authentic biblical community while simultaneously migrating them into our primary discipleship environments, which include community groups, neighborhood groups, and discipleship coaching.
• Oversee the team of community group Bible teachers by implementing the standardized curriculum they teach. Participate in the teaching rotation in community groups.
• Multiply the number of neighborhood groups by recruiting, equipping, encouraging, and empowering neighborhood group leaders.
• Implement our missional neighborhood strategy through groups that S.E.R.V.E. (spiritual formation, evangelism, recreation, volunteerism, extending care and compassion).
• Meet regularly with your neighborhood group leaders to encourage their personal growth and the growth of their neighborhood groups.
• Conduct regular neighborhood group leader training sessions.
• Lead your own neighborhood group.
• Oversee the implementation of sermon-based neighborhood groups.
• Participate in pastoral duties, including weddings and funerals.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor
