Pastor - Pathway Baptist Church

Pathway Baptist Church, Prudenville, Michigan

Pathway Baptist Church is a warm, loving, and tight-knit congregation of approximately 30 – 50 members located in the beautiful resort community of Prudenville, on Houghton Lake, Michigan. We are firmly rooted in Baptist faith and message, committed to sound biblical teaching, heartfelt worship, and local outreach. We are seeking a relational Lead Pastor who loves the small-church environment and is eager to shepherd our flock while helping us grow deeper in our faith.

The Lead Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader, preacher, and undershepherd of our congregation on a full-time basis. In our small church setting, this role requires a “hands-on” leader who thrives on building close personal relationships, visiting members, and handling both the pulpit ministry and everyday church administration.

Key Responsibilities

Expository Preaching: Deliver weekly, biblically sound, gospel-centered sermons that align with historic Baptist doctrine.

Relational Shepherding: Provide intentional pastoral care through home visits, hospital visitations, and personal prayer with members.

Discipleship & Small Groups: Lead or equip volunteers to run Sunday School, Bible studies, and prayer meetings.

Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the Deacons and church committees to oversee administrative tasks and budget management.

Ordinances & Services: Administer the scriptural ordinances of Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s supper, and conduct weddings and funerals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Spiritual Character: Must meet the biblical qualifications outlined in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

Doctrinal Alignment: Full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000

Education: A degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, or Ministry from a recognized Baptist seminary or college is preferred, but equivalent ministry experience will be highly valued.

Experience: Previous experience as a pastor, assistant pastor, or interim pastor in a small or mid-sized congregation is preferred.

Heart for Small Church: A visible passion for a small-church dynamic where everyone knows your name.

Compensation, Housing & Benefits

Full-Time Salary: Negotiable

Parsonage Provided: A family-friendly 3-bedroom, 2-bath parsonage is provided. The home features a large yard perfect for outdoor activities and is fully kid and pet friendly.

Utilities: Full utilities are included as part of the housing package.

Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation and time off package (specifics to be discussed during the interview process}.

How to Apply

Please submit a resume, and cover letter with a brief testimony of one's faith and call to ministry, and a link to a recent video or audio sermon with the subject line “Lead Pastor Application”. Resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.
