CNC - Swiss Lathe Operator

We are seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist to join our team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to produce precision parts and components. This is a full-time position on 1st or 2nd shift with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss Lathe machines
• Read and interpret blueprints and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures and machining methods and sequences.
• First Article Inspection and inspection of parts during production to maintain quality throughout the production run
• Must have the ability to maintain close tolerances (within .001) tolerance
• Knowledge to review and interpret “G” and “M” Code
• Prepares and pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations
• Must have an understanding of machine tool accuracies, fixture offsets, and tool offsets
• Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds and tool life
• Work closely with ME/CNC Programmers on new job prove-out, troubleshooting and improving processes
• Self-starter and self-motivated person, ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work overtime regularly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience setting up and operating Swiss Lathe or equivalent machine
• Experience with Mitsubishi controls and Citizen Machines
• Ability to use Comparator, micrometers, air gages, calipers, profilometer, etc.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Ability to setup machines including editing speeds, feeds, tool and fixture offsets
• Experience in programming CNC machines is a plus
