CNC Swiss Setup Machinist Opportunity!
Location: Highland Heights, OH
Direct Hire
Shift: 2nd shift-4x10, (M-Thursday, 3pm-1:30am)
Pay rate: $32-$35 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Setup Machinist to join the team of a dynamiccompany in the Highland Heights area. The successful candidate in this role will set up, troubleshoot, and optimize Citizen Swiss lathes and/or CNC milling equipment used in the production of complex, tight-tolerance medical components.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced working with precision-machined parts in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Citizen Swiss CNC lathes and/or CNC milling machines to produce precision medical device components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Install tooling, make machine offsets, and perform machine adjustments to maintain part quality and productivity.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary process adjustments to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, tooling problems, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Accurately document production and quality information in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve processes and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including GMP and ISO standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • 2+ years of CNC setup experience, preferably on Citizen Swiss-style lathes or precision CNC milling equipment.
  • Experience working with tight-tolerance machined components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, comparators, and optical inspection equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience machining small, complex components with extremely tight tolerances.
  • Knowledge of Swiss machining principles and multi-axis machining.
  • Familiarity with Citizen controls and Swiss programming concepts.
  • Understanding of SPC and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in ISO 13485 or FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
