Role Description

This full-time, on-site Machinist - Swiss Style Lathe role is based in San Diego, CA. The individual in this position will be responsible for operating and setting up Swiss-style lathes to produce precision components. Day-to-day tasks may include programming, troubleshooting machines and tooling, performance optimization, inspecting finished parts for quality assurance, and maintaining equipment. Collaboration with the production team to ensure product excellence and timely delivery is a key aspect of the role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operating and/or programming Swiss-style CNC lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami, Nomura)
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards
  • Experience in setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining precision machining equipment
  • Knowledge in tooling selection and optimization to achieve tight tolerances and superior finishes
  • Strong skills in measuring and inspecting parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
  • Ability to identify production issues and implement solutions effectively
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent training
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 13485 quality standards is an advantage
  • Familiarity or experience with ESPRIT is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, committed to meeting deadlines, and adept at working in a team environment
