The Accounting Manager will work in conjunction with the CFO to plan and direct accounting operations of the agency.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
- Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
- Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. reports significant budget differences to management.
- Support the CFO engaging in the board's audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operations.
- Support current partnerships with other agencies and organizations
- In collaboration with CFO, produces the annual budget and forecasts;
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit and 990 return.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Stands in for CFO as needed for meetings and other work related events.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Five years or more of related experience required. Non-Profit experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
