Overview:

This position is responsible for managing the production and manufacturing process of Nationwide Case at our Mesick, MI facility with the primary goals of maximizing and maintaining product quality, process efficiency, and profitability (quality / time / cost).

 

Essential Functions:

A. Site Management related responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of manufacturing team members.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining product cost estimate documents.
  • Manage labor schedules and overtime requirements to insure job completion deadlines.
  • Maximize labor and process efficiencies.
  • Establish production SOP’s and ensure their adherence.
  • Assist with administration of production management software.
  • Assist with production and manufacturing tasks as needed.
  • Ensuring accurate availability of hardware and raw materials.
  • Performing routine inventory analysis.
  • Administer monthly physical inventory.

B. Interpersonal and managerial responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Enforcing company Handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Interviewing and hiring personnel.
  • Training new employees.
  • Planning, assigning and directing work.
  • Establishing goals to align with overall business objectives.
  • Appraising employee performance and providing feedback.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Address inter and intra-departmental complaints and resolve problems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises the manufacturing team including Assembly and Finish Technicians and CNC Operators.

 

Work Environment:

Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and warehouse environments and is regularly exposed to heavy machinery and noise.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position may need to sit or stand as needed and may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required using proper lifting techniques. The position may require the ability to lift no more than 50 lbs. at a time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Nationwide Case days and hours of office operations are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

 

Travel:

Occasional travel is required for this position as mandated by the needs of the organization

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum five years of manufacturing and/or assembly operations experience
  • 3 years of experience with CAM programming and CNC router operation
  • 1-3 years of experience managing or supervising a manufacturing team
  • High School Diploma

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of manufacturing and/or assembly operations experience
  • 5+ years of experience with CAM programming and CNC router operation
  • 3+ years of experience managing or supervising a manufacturing team
  • Experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
