We are currently seeking a candidate for our: Continuous Improvement and EH&S Director

SUMMARY: The CI and EH&S Director role is critical to the future success of our Metal Packaging and Precision businesses. This role is responsible for developing and driving a continuous improvement culture and results focused on Lean processes, operations process flow and best-in-class safety results. This role requires approximately 30% travel and reports directly to the business unit President.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Assess business operations performance, focusing on Lean principles and Theory of Constraints, develop strategies for improvement and drive change within the organization.

· Drive the organizational processes for Safety Improvement and Compliance across DRT.

· Lead a cross-functional team of engineering, operations, and quality teams to drive safety and continuous improvement, cost savings initiatives across six operations business unit.

· Drive automation utilization with engineering and operations team support across the business units.

· Utilize ERP (BaaN) to compile and analyze data, develop insights and drive decision making.

· Collaborate with business units to implement and maintain a robust 6S system.

· Implement lean visual manufacturing in a high mix, high volume environment.

· Leads safety reporting and coordination of safety committees with ability to present to senior level leadership.

· Develops improved shop floor layouts to drive throughput and efficiency through all business units.

· Determine training programs needed to advance business performance, capability and culture.

· Additional duties as business needs arise.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role has no direct reports currently. Cross-functional leadership will be key for success.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to use CAD to manage shop layouts and drawings, and Microsoft Office Suite.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Manufacturing background. Industrial Engineering preferred. Strong change agent experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to the prescribed style and format and to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers including decimals and fractions. Uses simple formulae, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules. Checks reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
