Job Description

Hello All,

We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team at a leading structural steel fabrication company based in Florida. As a Structural Steel Estimator, you will play a crucial role in pursuing project opportunities and ensuring accurate estimations aligning with our company's core values of Service, Respect, Honesty & Integrity, Excellence, and Taking Ownership.

Salary: 100k - 120k

Responsibilities:

Directly communicate with general contractors, owners, and architects.
Interpret and analyze design drawings to determine project requirements.
Identify material, equipment needs, and costs based on project specifications.
Assess miscellaneous material requirements for railings & stairs.
Coordinate with vendors and distributors to obtain accurate estimates for materials & supplies.
Conduct material takeoffs, pricing, and prepare bid presentations for General Contractors utilizing steel estimating spreadsheets and estimating management software.
Follow up on submitted bids and maintain communication with customers.

Basic Qualifications:

Proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and drawings related to structural steel.
Experience with PDF software such as Bluebeam or Acrobat.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred knowledge of Tekla PowerFab; experience with Excel spreadsheets required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Familiarity with estimodeling is advantageous.
Solid math and geometry skills.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating steel fabrication and erection.
Ability to manage multiple projects and create tentative project schedules.
Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude.
