Job Description

Job Overview

 

Coordinates activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. The interns should market and help the organization gain members and opportunities to support the members. The interns should coordinate events and activities for the members of the organization. Interns will also be responsible for the database management and virtual technology development of the organization.

 

Reports To

Executive Directors and Executive Assistant of Black Girls Do Engineer Corporation

Responsibilities and Duties

 

· Support planning and coordination of the program and its activities

· Help build positive relations within the team and external parties

· Support growth and program development

· Coordinate events within the program

· Assist in preparation of grant proposals; provide policy interpretation on grant parameters.

· Submit grant proposal for organization to bring in grant funding for organization.

· May arrange for use of facilities and advise availability of service within and outside the office space for gatherings such as conferences and seminars. Uses a pre-assigned event/function budget; assigns and coordinates down, classroom, AV and other facilities on behalf of program; makes recommendations for food and activities for participants.

· Contributes to unit goals by accomplishing related duties as required.

· Recruits program participants, members, and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings.

· Maintain an adequate supply of recruiting materials.

· Actively encourage application for Membership.

· Assist with development of online membership process.

· Support the vision and mission of the organization through marketing and membership

Programs and resources.

· Develops, compiles and writes communications and promotional literature for distribution such as newsletters, brochures or flyers; coordinates process from development through printing and distribution.

· Assist with development of sponsorship materials and proposals.

· Coordinate sponsorship and partnership opportunities.

· Collaborate with and provide support to the Black Girls Do Engineer Corporation

events and challenges (e.g. Fundraising events, robotics challenges, popup events, etc.)

· Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings or conferences, coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.

· Attend promotional events for Black Girls Do Engineer Corporation

· Create a database management system

· Build a cloud foundation for the organization

· Develop virtual platform for new virtual environment

· Market organization to colleges and universities

· Any other duties as directed by the Board of Directors.

 

 

Qualifications

· Seeking a bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, or Business Administration.

· Superb oral and written communication and presentation skills.

· Excellent organization skills and strong attention to details.

· A strong sense of initiative with the ability to multitask, anticipate executive needs, and deliver on time.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Knowledge of program management and development procedures

· Excellent time- management and organizational skills

· Excellent presentation skills.
