The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Seattle - SeaTac Airport is looking for a strong, results-driven candidate for our available Maintenance Manager position. The individual should be a motivated self-starter that is willing to take pride and ownership in the property condition. The hotel requires an engineer that is able to use judgement and past experience to make on-the-spot decisions for time pressing tasks and manage them through completion. As a department head, the right fit will be a team player and provide hands-on training to other members of the department.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for staffing Maintenance department including hiring and terminations, as well as overseeing direct reports' performance and development through direct feedback, holding meetings, establishing clear performance goals, coaching, training, and reviews, and holding team members accountable for following all hotel policies, checklists, and SOP's.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance to guest rooms and hotel equipment (painting, wall vinyl repair, basic plumbing) and be able to delegate tasks to subordinates.
  • Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
  • Know when a task is beyond the skill level or current capacity of hotel staff and to seek outside help, such as contractor.
  • Obtain multiple bids from contractors and manage contractors on site through completion.
  • Able to react quickly and make decision for expensive repairs as-need, mitigating guest impact.
  • Manage and delegate to employees to ensure multiple tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Able to meet all deadlines in regard to brand and company standards.
  • Provide a safe working environment.
