POSITION OVERVIEW

DEFTEC is seeking an experienced Strategic Planner for a position supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The Strategic Planner shall provide threat analysis and planning support within the Operations-Analysis Department, Operations Integration Directorate, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to enable threat awareness and understanding for its global customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expertise and management of a quality control program for intelligence analysis and reporting
  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic planning support for issues involving intelligence policy and interaction with IC components
  • Assist in the development of SOPs, information papers and other guidance documents
  • Provide staff action management support - classified, unclassified (task management tool)
  • Provide long range planning and cross-Directorate calendar support coordination
  • Provide senior leader engagements coordination and support, synchronizing activities with the DTRA Director's Action Group
  • Provide high-level operational and organizational performance requirements
  • Monitor and report performance measures and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of active initiatives
  • Perform concept and feasibility studies and conduct cost/benefit analysis for new initiatives
  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic planning support for issues involving intelligence policy and interaction with IC components
  • Monitor and maintain situational awareness of the information technology (IT) infrastructure and coordinate requirements for support
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the Department's Troop to Task resourcing and other PPBE, reorganization, and staffing activities as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for immediate SCI nomination and indoctrination
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of military experience in planning/strategic planning.
  • Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience in the ability and skills to manage multiple projects, keep track of, or adjust, existing tasks while identifying new tasks and expectations as projects evolve.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills geared towards senior executives.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills that foster teamwork and create positive relationships with staff and principals.
  • Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports, briefings, memoranda, and presentations.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, problem solve, and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
