INSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY, S.E. SHIRES COMPANY

S.E. Shires, a leading manufacturer of high-end professional brass instruments, is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hard-working craftsperson to join the team in Holliston, Massachusetts. We are a small, tight-knit group of craftspeople dedicated to making some of the finest handmade brass instruments in the world. This is more than just our job, it is our passion.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble simple to sophisticated instrument parts and components
• Use hand tools, touches, and other light machinery
• Basic soldering and brazing of brass, nickel, and steel parts
• Follow established procedures on routine work with limited supervision
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses, face shields, and gloves
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
• Support continuous improvement activities and participate in problem solving activities
• Consistently meet production, quality, and attendance requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree or Technical School Degree preferred
• Strong attention to detail, and uphold highest standards for quality
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Musical instrument experience is a plus
