Accounting Supervisor

As an Accounting Supervisor, you will contribute to the company’s continued success by working with and supervising our accounting team to ensure that financial information is reported and analyzed in a timely fashion to upper management.

The Accounting Supervisor's responsibilities include performing or supervising the following :

• Ensuring transactions are properly classified in the general ledger
• Day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, A/R, A/P, inventory, and job cost
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements including analytical review
• Preparing and/or reviewing reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and ensuring timely follow-up of reconciling items
• Assist in preparation of annual pre-qualification applications
• Monthly and quarterly tax reporting, including sales and use tax and fuel tax
• Supporting management team in preparation of recurring and ad hoc analyses and information requests
• Researching, analyzing, and resolving questions from management relating to financial transactions including revenues, expenses, and job cost
• Provide support and leadership with company audit

Requirements for the Accounting Supervisor position are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 5-7 years of experience in a construction or manufacturing accounting position
• Monthly account reconciliation experience
• Proven knowledge of accounts receivable (AR)
• Proven knowledge of accounts payable (AP)
• Comprehension of monthly financial statements
• Solid understanding of month end closings
• Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and valuation
• Hands-on experience with job cost or cost accounting
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliation
• Experience in month-end close activities
• Proven knowledge of GAAP accounting
• Experience with annual external audit
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Produce results without direct supervision
• Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Effective time management and prioritization of workload
• Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
