Hose Doctors identify, diagnose, and replace hose assemblies on hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The hallmark of the Hose Doctor is service, which is delivered anywhere a customer needs assistance. A Hose Doctor provides emergency support to many Original Equipment Manufacturers who rely on hoses and fittings to power the equipment they manufacture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Drive to clients' location to replicate hose assemblies
- Evaluate and understand hose applications and proper installation procedures
- Assess hydraulic hose problems on varied machinery
- Measure, cut, assemble, crimp, install, , industrial hydraulic hose
- Test and check hose assemblies per Company procedures
- Hose removal as necessary
- Diagnose hydraulic systems functioning improperly
- Responsible for stocking and maintenance of equipment on service vehicle
- Keep service vehicle /mobile workshops clean
- Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times
- Ensure customer satisfaction at all times
- Read and understand work orders
- Develop relationships with new and existing customers
- Enter and maintain sales orders in company ERP system (Tribute)
- Manage customer accounts under existing territory
- Perform other job duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experience using industrial hose crimping machines (Parker is our preferred model)
- Extensive hydraulic system and component knowledge
- Experience as a mechanic a plus
- Good fitting / mechanical skills
- Ability to handle material up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with heavy tools
- The ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
- Great attention to detail
- Good people skills and be able to communicate well with other staff and customers
- Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems
- Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- Minimum of High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
The physical requirements for this position are typical for a mobile employee including constant movement within a wide range of office environments, climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting 50+ pounds.
