Job description

Summary of Position

The Warehouse Hose Technician performs a combination of warehouse, inventory control, and hose assembly responsibilities. This role involves preparing, assembling, and processing hose orders while ensuring a high level of accuracy, safety, and efficiency in the warehouse environment. The technician will also support shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Hose Assembly & Processing:

    • Perform complete hose assembly, including measuring, cutting, and crimping hoses using proper tools.
    • Ensure quality by examining connections, fastening parts, and following assembly guidelines.
    • Prepare orders by coiling hoses and packaging for customer delivery.
    • Document work by completing production and quality control forms.
  • Warehouse & Inventory Control:

    • Assist in receiving shipments, organizing stock, and replenishing inventory.
    • Track and manage proprietary product inventory through an ERP system.
    • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins following Midwest Hose organizational standards.
    • Maintain accurate order logs and perform inventory counts as needed.
  • Equipment Operation & Safety:

    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
    • Load and unload trucks following OSHA safety guidelines.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
    • Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection, steel-toe boots) and report workplace hazards.
  • Customer & Team Support:

    • Occasionally interact with customers for quick-turnaround hose orders.
    • Provide excellent customer service with a professional and positive attitude.
    • Work as part of a team to ensure timely order fulfillment and smooth warehouse operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED (Required)
  • Prior warehouse experience (Required)
  • Hose assembly experience (Preferred)
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified (Required)
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, work orders, and inventory logs
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.in adherence with Midwest Hose Safety Standards
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and exposure to temperature changes
  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet daily order demands
