Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts in the Architectural industry. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving sales growth within the architectural sector.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to penetrate the architectural market segment for Johnson Architectural Elements products.
  • Revenue Generation: Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals set by the company.
  • Lead Generation: proactively develop leads by utilizing different lead generation strategies including but not limited to constant visit to designer, architects and contractors, identifying projects that could require Johnson Architectural Elements products and developing and training a representative network.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and manage the sales pipeline including but not limited to tracking leads, developing business opportunities by project hunting, following up on opportunities and closing deals.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, potential clients and potential new products within the architectural industry.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and other key stakeholders within the architectural community.
  • Solution Selling: Collaborate with the technical team to understand client requirements and propose tailored metal architectural elements that address their specific needs.
  • Proposal Generation: work with the internal sales team to ensure our proposals will meet our customer requirements, present and explain our proposals to customers.
  • Industry Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, engineering, and product development, to support cross-functional initiatives and drive business growth.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates, reports, and insights on market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Marketing, or related Field. MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in business development and sales within the architectural industry, preferably with experience in selling technical products or solutions.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction processes, and project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communications, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive initiatives to capitalize on them.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time both domestically and internationally as required.
