Position: Compressor Automation Specialist
Purpose:
The Compressor Automation Specialist’s primary role is to support customers with a range of Compression-based automation solutions (panels) as well as Slipstream Vent Capture Systems. This is an opportunity for individuals who want to work with a leading automation supplier, providing innovative solutions based on industry-recognized technologies in some of the largest installations in the world. This role will require a valid US Passport with travel to Canada during training for consecutive weeks (possibly 1-2months). We also anticipate travel to be 75% or greater for this opportunity. Remote US is a viable option with the focus to be in close proximity to a major airport for travel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site startup and commissioning services for our Engine & Compression Solutions. Initial setup/coordination/enablement
- Troubleshooting/Responding to customer requests and details regarding initialization of the site work, deliverables and scope of work
- Initial site Commissioning with QA/QC focus review
- Coordinating with contractors and end users to manage work packages and job completion safely and efficiently
- Finalization and assistance with solution packages and shop Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Field start-up/Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) support
- Site Project Support to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to expectation
- Provide support for all E&C solutions and applications, with a focus on products and solutions sold through our Solutions division, such as:
- REMVue Safety Shutdown and SlipStream Vent Capture systems.
- Instrumentation Measurement & Control Panels
- Ignition systems and their components
- Mechanical hardware as required within the engineered solution
- Involvement in installation and repair of other products Applied Control supplies as part of our Compression Solutions which include:
- Fisher valves, Regulators, Rosemount transmitters (flow, level, temperature, pressure), Isolation Valves
- MicroMotion Coriolis meters, VSD/VFD drives, differential pressure transmitters, gas analyzers
- Quality assurance on new equipment including testing new hardware and debugging new software
- Telephone customer support on our products and solutions
- Interfacing with internal and external customers
- Participating in a high-performing team environment with unique/flexible times lines, customer requests and dynamic opportunities to excel
- Frequent domestic travel with travel to Canada for 1-2 months for training.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Engineering Technology diploma (Instrument or Electrical preferred), Power Engineer background or Journeyman Instrument Technician Certificate; or 3-5 years related industry experience
- Ability to relocate to meet business needs
- Experience with industrial software and familiarity with computer hardware fundamentals; PLC programming experience is preferred
- Experience with Rotating Equipment and Engine understanding is preferred
- Familiar with pressure, flow and temp measurement
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Solid customer service habits and practices with team player attitude
- Self-directed, strong initiative and willing to work independently
- Ability to produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Valid driver's license, safe driving record and willingness to travel, both to domestic and international destinations
- Entrepreneurial work ethic and ability to work in the flexible start-up environment of a new venture
- This position has been deemed as safety-sensitive successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test
- Compressor mechanic experience (beneficial but not required)
- Natural gas plant operations (beneficial but not required)
- Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) experience or education (beneficial but not required)
- Programming mainly Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs - RSlogix 5000 or studio 5000 are the programming software. HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming in FactoryTalk (beneficial but not required)
- Low voltage electrical experience (beneficial but not required)
Working Conditions:
Driving and operating machinery involved. 50% or more travel is a requirement. Possibility of driving 2 to 6 hours one way. This position may require evening, weekend and holiday hours. Lifting up to 60 pounds is required on occasion.
Compensation:
Rate range: $27.00-$41.00 hourly
Note: Most candidates will be hired between the $27.00-$33.00 range, with the $34.00-$41.00 range reserved for more experienced candidates. Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.
Other: Eligible for additional compensation including overtime pay and an annual profit share award.
