Aerial Operation Technician

NATURE OF WORK:
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Aerial Operations Technician to join our team. The primary objective of this role is to assist in the operation of drones and the drone support vehicles. Successful candidates will play a crucial role in supporting our commercial drone operations. This position is created as we grow our aerial operations division.  Those who seek to work as a drone pilot for our company should understand that this position is a starting point in which you need to understand the ground-based operations before potentially becoming a pilot in the future.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•    Operate mechanical systems such a gas-powered pump, chemical dispensing systems, basic electrical and high pressure wash systems.
•    Directly support drone pilots by driving support vehicles and operating on board pressure wash systems.
•    Monitor weather conditions and environmental factors that could impact drone operations and make informed decisions to ensure safe and successful flights.
•    Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and data collection needs.
•    Maintain maintenance logs, documentation, and maintenance activities.
•    Following all safety protocols in place while recommending potential improvements.
•    Troubleshoot and address minor mechanical, electrical and technical issues.  Coordinate with support teams for more complex repairs.
•    Contribute to the development of improved drone support vehicle operation procedures and guidelines to enhance efficiency and safety.
•    Develop a basic understanding of the pre-flight and post-flight procedures of drones in order to support the pilots.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•    Though not a requirement, preference will be given to those who already have obtained their FAA Part 107 Drone License.
•    Those who excel in this position can be considered for future pilot positions.
•    Excellent communicator and experience with high stress environments.
•    Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting principles.
•    Excellent situational awareness and decision-making skills to navigate unexpected challenges.
•    Detail-oriented with the ability to assist with technical issues at the direction of the pilots.
•     Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey operational information clearly.
•    The ability to work as a team with other personnel is critical for this position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•    Valid Driver’s License
•    Background Check
•    Ability to communicate effectively.
•    Experience with pressure wash / soft wash systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•    Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office and field operations-related equipment, such as, but not limited to, computers, copiers, and other facility maintenance types of equipment.
•    Physical fitness to handle equipment setup, transport, and outdoor work conditions.
•    Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, or kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, crawling, and handling
•    The ability to work a flexible schedule as this position relies heavily on weather conditions.
