What are aerial jobs?

Aerial jobs refer to positions that involve working above ground level, often at significant heights. These roles can include aerial photography, aerial surveying, drone piloting, or working as an aerial lineman or rigger. People in aerial jobs may operate aircraft, drones, or work on towers and other elevated structures to perform inspections, maintenance, or capture images and data. Safety training and certification are often required due to the risks associated with working at heights. Aerial jobs are common in industries like telecommunications, construction, agriculture, and media.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an aerial photographer?

To thrive as an Aerial Photographer, you need expertise in photography, a solid understanding of aerial shot composition, and typically a drone pilot’s license or relevant aviation certification. Familiarity with drone operation, image editing software, and GPS navigation systems is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong spatial awareness are valuable soft skills that set professionals apart in this role. These abilities are crucial for capturing high-quality images safely and efficiently from unique perspectives.

Effective communication with air traffic control and thorough pre-flight planning also help ensure safety and quality results. Building strong technical skills and adapting quickly to changing conditions are key factors for success in this role.
