Production Engineer

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

• Optimizes manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Designs, develops, and implements systems and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
• Analyzes data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Reviews and calculates labor, material, and other production costs and proposes and implements solutions to enhance productivity and reduction of total costs.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and research and development, to implement new processes or improve existing processes.
• Collaborates with R&D and supply chain to streamline processes and ensure products meet quality standards.
• Ensures efficient manufacturing processes by optimizing workflow and implementing quality control measures.
• Assists troubleshoot issues on the production line, identifies areas for improvement, and implements solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs.
•  Performs other functions as requested by the immediate Supervisor.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience preferably in Pharmaceutical, Nutritional or food plant production/packaging.
• BA Industrial Engineer (preferred)
• Bilingual English- Spanish (required)
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, solid dose, liquid, and powder presentations are required for this role.
• Experience in cGMP
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook).
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities at the same time.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Handle loads up to 10 lbs., sometimes up to 20 lbs. A lot of walking or standing, bending, squatting or you might stand to do some activities. Speaking clearly enough to be able to be understood by others. Identifying and understanding the speech of another person.

Typical Work Conditions

• Person will be subject to food and nutritional bulk ingredients, which may affect the respiratory system or the skin, including an environment subject to odors, dust or airborne allergens.
• Person will be working in a dry and low moisture environment
• Person will be exposed to normal work hazards, including a variety of physical conditions such as a proximity to moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to noise.
