Maintenance Parts Room Clerk Position Summary

The Maintenance Parts Room Clerk plays a very crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance department by managing inventory of parts, ordering parts, identifying parts and location, support documentation, coordinate with local vendors, work order systems and other related duties. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Maintenance Parts Room Clerk Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies in the maintenance parts room.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder parts as needed to ensure availability for maintenance activities.
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments of parts and supplies, verifying accuracy and quality.
• Organize parts and supplies in the parts room for easy access and efficient inventory management.
• Issue parts and supplies to maintenance technicians as requested, keeping detailed records of transactions.
• Assist in the implementation of inventory controls measures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
• Perform regular audits of parts inventory to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, place orders, and track deliveries.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the parts room, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Must know all Safety Requirements, Departmental and Plant Wide.
• Must be able to maintain departmental 5-S for assigned areas and equipment.
• Have general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system.
• Understand the work order process system and input the work orders into the Cogz System.
• Identifies inventory items at point of issue that may require reordering based on system requirements.
• Makes pick-ups of parts or materials when necessary.
• Input data and print purchase orders and match documentation and process to Procurement or Accounting.
• Maintain weekly and monthly cycle counts of parts, track and secure inventory.
• Assist in other maintenance department tasks and projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Maintenance Parts Room Clerk Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of proven experience in inventory management or a related field
• Familiarity with maintenance parts and supplies, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office, SAP or inventory management software.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
• 3+ years of forklift experience.
• Ability to work evening/night shift.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends with limited notice when necessary.
• Knowledge with machinery parts preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
