JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Manager will be prioritizing user requirements, initiating, and overseeing system upgrades, evaluate existing and research new tools while supervising the implementation and maintenance of the company’s IT needs. They will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. They will work with senior management to make recommendations and identify the goals necessary to improve company productivity, security and output.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and develop the Information Technology department.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
• Collaborate with/manage developers regarding specific company projects, software, systems and webpage.
• Propose system modifications, develop and test software solutions and installation. Track effectiveness of the solutions.
• Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as system updates, backups, and security patches.
• Communicate with stakeholders to understand their requirements.
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.
• Plan and oversee the deployment of new software applications and updates.
• Integrate multiple systems and reconcile needs of different teams.
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
• Set up and manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory.
• Utilize Connectwise ticketing system to track and resolve IT incidents and requests.
• Collaborate with IT Solutions to identify, recommend and guide/implement solutions to improve IT infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Provide end-user technical training on software applications and systems.
• Set up and manage corporate office phone system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Proficient knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS)
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Expertise in data center management and data governance
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Ability to manage personnel and build a team
• Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Experience with Connectwise or similar ticketing system
• Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols and LAN/WAN technologies
• Knowledge of Active Directory administration, including user account management and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
• Knowledge of Dropbox administration and SharePoint implementation and troubleshooting
• Ability to support Microsoft 365
• Understanding of Windows Server environments
• Ability to diagnose and resolve software-related problems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Five or more years of experience in IT management
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or 5 years of work experience in a related area
• Deep knowledge of programming languages and operating systems (ex. Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring
• Proven experience in Project Management
• Professional Certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to lift files, computers, printers and other IT equipment, open filing cabinets, and bend, stand or crawl as necessary. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The ability to use a computer, tablet or smart phone for extended periods of time. Basic use of office equipment such as copier and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time exempt position.

TRAVEL:

25-35% travel may be required for this position.
