HVAC & Plumbing Estimator - 1891862

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Corporate HVAC Estimator to join our team in Corpus Christi, TX. As a key member of our corporate estimating department, the HVAC Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating commercial HVAC projects, managing project budgets, and ensuring the successful execution of HVAC projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating and project management, with a deep understanding of commercial HVAC systems, hydronics, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Estimating: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including new installations, retrofits, and replacements. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine project scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
2. Project Management: Oversee and manage HVAC projects from inception to completion, including project scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, subcontractor coordination, and quality control. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
3. Budget Management: Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking reports. Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure project profitability and financial success.
4. Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to understand project requirements, address inquiries, and present project proposals. Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing excellent customer service and delivering high-quality work.
5. Technical Expertise: Apply expertise in commercial HVAC systems, hydronics, and plumbing systems to assess project requirements, select appropriate equipment and materials, and develop cost-effective solutions. Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in HVAC estimating and project management.
6. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with HVAC projects, such as design changes, material shortages, and labor constraints. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address project risks proactively.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure alignment between estimating, design, and execution phases of HVAC projects. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating and project management.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, hydronics, and plumbing systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office with knowledge of spreadsheets, projects and presentation software.
• Experience with digital onscreen take-off systems; Viewpoint software preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, details and project specifications.
• Special Knowledge: Construction, Mechanical HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers
