Position Summary:
An Environmental Associate/Housekeeper cleans and sanitizes Resident Apartments and Common Areas of the Community, prepares vacant Apartments for move-in, and launders linens, drapes, and Residents’ personal clothing.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Housekeeping & Laundry:
1. dusts and polishes furniture, picture frames, mirrors, and other fixtures;
2. washes and disinfects countertops and sink areas in Resident Apartments and Common Areas of the Community;
3. mops and disinfects bathrooms and hard surface floors in Resident Apartments and Common Areas of the Community;
4. vacuums carpeted floors in Resident Apartments and Common Areas of the Community;
5. refills paper products and soap dispensers;
6. empties trash receptacles;
7. Vacuums and mops floors in Common Areas, hallways, and other areas of the Community;
8. operates washing and drying machines to launder linens, draperies, clothing, towels, and other machine-washable articles;
9. performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental Services.

Qualifications:
1. Required: an Environmental Associate – Housekeeping & Laundry must: a) demonstrate competency in Housekeeping & Laundry functions and be willing to perform either when required; and b) demonstrate the ability to timely complete scheduled tasks.
2. Preferred: The following qualifications would enhance the skill set of a prospective Environmental Associate – Housekeeping & Laundry: a) a high school diploma or equivalent; and b) relevant experience in a commercial housekeeping or laundry capacity, preferably in a health care facility.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands: an Environmental Associate – Housekeeping & Laundry: 1. must be able to maintain moderate to heavy physical activity for an entire shift, occasionally handling objects up to 100 pounds, frequently handling objects up to 60 pounds, and constantly lifting or exerting up to 30 pounds of force; 2. must be able to stand, walk, and grasp throughout an entire shift, to frequently stoop and reach above shoulder height, and occasionally sit, crawl, kneel, or squat
