Description:

This position supports the Director of Operations with the daily supervision of the BHT Supervisor’s while providing a safe environment for the clients in treatment at Arbor Wellness. The BHT Supervisor monitors each BHT’s ability to maintain the client’s well-being during the treatment process while assisting them to adjust to the programming routine by answering questions and/or addressing concerns the client may have.


1. Assists the Director of Operations with the daily supervision of the BHT team by performing the following tasks, but not limited to: scheduling, supervising and conducting monthly meetings.

2. Evaluates employee performance in a fair, objective, consistent and timely manner according to their job description, performance standards, and established goals and objectives.

3. Assists with the admission process for new client intake and orientation procedures and schedules including but not limited to; body and personal belonging searches for any contraband brought into the while logging all personal belongings, and valuables. Valuables to be kept in the center’s safe per company policy and procedures.

4. Fills out all lab requisitions for urine and drug screening tests while obtaining the appropriate samples and completing the testing per proper procedures.

5. Completes all tests required for initial client intake including but not limited to; pregnancy and breathalyzer per proper testing procedures and/or additional testing as directed by the medical staff.

6. Monitors the clients completing the mental health program with emphasis on client safety and their well-being by performing rounds every 30 minutes within the facility.

7. Monitors the Day/Group Room and the client’s location by performing rounds every 30 minutes within the facility.

8. Assures all clients’ needs are being met including room assignments.

9. Addresses client’s concerns and questions to help eliminate the possibility of AMA (Against Medical Advice) discharge.

10. Reminds a client of program rules and regulations as necessary and report/document infractions appropriately.

11. Provides emotional support for clients and assists with connecting them with therapy staff for clinical concerns.

12. Exercises sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage client behavior.

13. Provides supervision of meals, including monitoring of clients, Follows up to ensure the garbage is disposed of properly after each meal.

14. Ensures the Shift Report is completed neatly, timely, accurately and completely by following company policy and procedures while documenting items and providing the information for the next shift.

15. Completes all assigned paperwork neatly, timely, accurately and completely, including but not limited to incident reports.

16. Communicates with other staff as necessary to promote quality client care.

17. Communicates with other staff as necessary to report safety and maintenance issues and or concerns.

18. Partners with all staff on duty to promote quality client care.

19. Maintains a Standard Infection Control Precaution per the facility’s policies and procedures.

20. Maintains a clean, properly supplied and efficient work area.

21. Participates in all staff meetings as scheduled including but not limited for; training purposes, educational purposes and/or license/certification purposes.

22. Ensures client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42CFR, Part 2 and ’s privacy policies, procedures and practices as required by federal and state law in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider.

23. May access protected health information (PHI) and other client information only to the extent that is necessary to complete their assigned job functions and may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific client information to complete their job functions/responsibilities.

24. Interacts with fellow team members and clients in a respectful, professional manner.

25. Maintains professional ethics and boundaries at all times.

26. Performs other duties assigned.

27. Being sensitive to Cultural Issues of a client based on their job position.

28. Reporting Suicidality/Homicide of a client based to their job position.

29. Ability of competency and understanding to mental illness and substance use disorder based on their job position.

30. Reporting and responding to safety concerns of a client and/or staff based on their job position.

31. Reporting and responding to mental health concerns of a client based on their job position.


Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Vocational training preferred in a related field.
  • Must have one year of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if a recovering alcoholic or drug addict and participate in a self-help program.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health care setting for client care.
  • Supervision experience preferred.
  • Individual must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
