Summary of Program and Position:

Family Peace Centers promote peace and safety for Hawaii’s families and communities by providing support and education for those who use violence, survivors, and their children. Violent and abusive behavior is learned and can be unlearned. Accepting responsibility and being accountable for one’s behavior are critical in the path to peace. The consistent use of non-violent skills assures safety for survivors and children, promotes offender accountability, and solidifies an end to the cycle of violence in families and communities. Family Peace Centers emphasize partnership, equality and respect among and between all family members.

The primary responsibilities of the Client Support Representative (Intake Screener) are to handle phone and in-person client intake, schedule appointments and processing of referrals, track referrals to the Family Peace Center, and provide overall operational and program support to the Family Peace Center (Oahu). This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Director.

Essential Job Functions:

• Answers the telephones, greets visitors, and manages reception area in support of program safety.
• Processes and tracks referrals from referring agencies and provides data input of referrals. Conducts intake with clients in accordance with program and agency procedures.
• Completes intake screening form in PACT’s electronic client record system.
• Collects program fees from clients, processes, and logs fees; accordingly, documents all client and collateral contact in accordance with program and agency procedures.
• Schedules appointments for assessments and orientations and provides clients with relevant information.
• Provides general administrative support to the program including data entry, report and correspondence formatting and production, faxing, copying, mail processing, typing, filing, and meeting preparation. Attends monthly FPC staff meeting and is responsible for taking and distributing notes from the meeting.
• Assists with responding to requests for information and referrals from staff, clients, other social service providers, the courts, and other stakeholders, including community members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Training / Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.

One (1) year experience in an administrative or clerical position, required.

One (1) year experience working with families who have experienced domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, or another related field, required.

Other:

1. Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and daily access to an automobile.
2. Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
3. Can obtain an acceptableFingerprint (FBI) background check upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
4. Can obtain a State Criminal History check upon initial hire, one year later, and every other year thereafter or as requested.
5. Can obtain an acceptable CWS background check. upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
6. Can obtain an acceptable National Sex Offender Registry Check upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
