Who We Are:

Our co-founders, Chad Wild Clay & Vy Qwaint, were successful entrepreneurs in the software & fitness industries prior to creating the SPY NINJAS, a fast-growing youth media franchise. In 2019 they teamed up with Surge Licensing, the agency behind the success of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Their YouTube series now has 40M subscribers and 13B views across a handful of channels. The show is also streamed on Amazon Prime and Roku.

Spy Ninjas has a successful line of toys through Playmates Toys, a line of books and graphic novels through Scholastic, all of which can be found at various retailers including Target, Walmart, and Amazon. We also have produced a popular mobile game (10M installs), a Roblox video game, and merch (backpacks, lunchboxes, hoodies, etc…)

In March 2024 the company opened the first theme park built from the ground up based on YouTube intellectual property. “Spy Ninjas HQ” is bringing in a whole new way for fans to experience the videos they watch in real life.

Overview:

In this role you'll be joining Qlay Co. to become part of a small but mighty team of fellow writer/directors for the 'Spy Ninjas' storyline - one of the longest running and most successful scripted series in YouTube history (with over 15B total views). You will work alongside the head creative and founders of the company to ideate, write, direct and edit episodes. Additionally, you'll be learning and gaining experience in all facets of video production including creating YouTube thumbnails and becoming an expert in analytics to help improve the results of your videos.

We are located in Las Vegas, NV and you will be required to live here or relocate for this opportunity where you will be filming videos around the area as well as in our brand new 55,000 square foot space called Spy Ninjas HQ (search it up, it’s really fun there!). Interviews can be held remotely if you are not local to the area, and if you are selected for this role, relocation compensation will be discussed.

Ideal Candidate:

Passion for YouTube video, low budget but high quality production, and is willing to be a jack-of-all-trades type video maker. We are a small team of some of the most experienced and easy-going YouTubers who jump to any role to help each other get the best quality videos out to our large fanbase.

Knowledge about great thumbnail-making, and a strong desire to master YouTube analytics/algorithms is a huge plus. If you have experience working on YouTube productions or for a YouTube channel, also a big win.

Requirements:

• Experience as a director and writer. We film fast and our scripts are more guides (think a family-friendly spies/hero “Curb Your Enthusiasm”)
• Video editing skills
• Camera operating experience (often you will also be operating camera)
• Process Oriented. We are an always changing company due to the nature of web video, and our long running series has a process driven workflow within a creative environment.
• A willingness to take on any role needed on production days. Our directors help each other as assistants and co-directors to help get all content done together.
