Position Description

Fuel Distribution System Operator

General: Full-time position functioning in an unsupervised capacity. Candidates must be mature, self disciplined, self-motivated and self-directed. Must have strong interpersonal skills and represent the company well at all times.

Experience Required: Desire of 5 years experience in operation and maintenance of fuels storage and vehicle fueling systems. Familiarity with electrical power and control systems and mechanical equipment. Capable of minor repair to electrical systems and mechanical equipment. Must be capable in PC utilization and Windows based software. Desirable experience with hazardous material handling and spill response and cleanup.

Pay, benefits & hours:

Hourly position (40 hours per week). Hourly rate is set by the Wage Determination Act for a FDSO in Colorado springs, CO. 28.87 per hour.
An additional 4.98 per hour will also be applied for Health and Welfare.
Shifts will consist of 2 weeks regular daytime 8am-4pm. 2 Weeks evening shift 4pm-12pm

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Receive and sample fuel delivered to Above Ground Storage Tanks.

· Check tank inventory daily, order re-supply as necessary and enter data into computer.

· Sample fuel, as required, and ship to lab for analysis.

· Train government vehicle operators in proper use of equipment.

· Supervise government operators loading into bulk trucks as required.

· Monitor fuel leak detection systems daily.

· Monitor daily computer records of fuel issued through the automated fuel dispensers. Identify and correct discrepancies in the records.

· Upload the computer records, as required, into the government’s central computer system.

· Code and issue electronic keys to government vehicles as authorized.

· Monitor status of facility and equipment daily. Conduct and document scheduled inspections of facility equipment and systems. Make minor repairs to electrical and mechanical equipment.

· Supervise contractor personnel making special repairs to equipment and facilities.

· Maintain supplies and spare parts.

· Provide initial spill response actions and notify support contractors and authorities in accordance with a written plan.

· Act as company liaison to Fort Jackson service functions as necessary.

· Respond to call-outs for after hour problems or emergency operations requested by the government, this a minor requirement.
