Academy Admissions Counselor

Who we are and who we need:

Valley Forge Military Academy is a college prep boarding school for boys in grades 7-12, and we use the structure, accountability and discipline of the military model to shape these young men both inside and outside of the classroom so that they are prepared to go out into the world with respect for themselves and others, integrity, and self-motivation. We’re dedicated to forging the leaders of tomorrow, and that journey must begin with an outstanding admissions process and team! We are looking for a new member of our admissions team that believes in this mission and is eager to help us grow and better the Academy as we enroll Cadets that are ready to Forge Their Futures.

Responsibilities:

● Respond to informational inquiries from potential families, assist families through the admission process, and conduct school events as needed.

● Recruit new Cadets and families, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Obtain knowledge of academic programs within the Academy, as well as all aspects of Cadet life in order to convey this information clearly and accurately to prospective families and admitted Cadets, particularly in converting admits into matriculates.
2. Initiate, establish and maintain direct contact with prospective and current families, and students of diversity, including traditional and non-traditional learners.
3. Schedule, coordinate and conduct campus tours and family visits.
4. Meticulously manage the Admissions calendar.
5. Effectively and thoroughly use admissions metrics to ensure that all accepted Cadets exemplify the values and mission of the Academy.
6. Manage in-person, phone, email, and mail communication to prospective Cadet families.

● Achieve goals and metrics set by the Director of Academy Admissions and other Academy leadership.

● Accurate data entry and record-keeping

● Manage electronic and paper files for all applicants.

● Assist the Director of Academy Admissions in reviewing current admissions materials for accuracy as well as maintain the common admissions spaces in order to provide a welcome and informative experience for prospective families and guests.

● Attend recruiting fairs and events, visit high schools and prospective families, as needed.

● Some evenings and weekends may be required.

● Other duties as assigned by the Director of Academy Admissions.

Qualifications:

● A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.

● Minimum 1 year of prior recruiting experience; high school recruitment is a plus.

● Minimum 3 years of customer service, telemarketing or sales experience.

● Military experience is preferred.
