Community Health Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced, professional Dental Receptionist/Assistant for a full time opportunity in our Dental Department. Reporting to the Clinical Director of Dental, the Dental Receptionist/Assistant is the face of our department and provides excellent customer service and patient care.

The successful candidate will:

  • Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience

  • Have certifications in Radiation and Infection Control through DANB

  • Have a high degree of comfort with electronic medical records systems and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Demonstrate superior customer service skills

  • Have proven success handling confidential information

  • Be comfortable with or be able quickly to learn electronic practice management systems

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and integrity in processing all forms of patient payments

  • Complete the intake and timely documentation of the reason for visit, accurate vital signs, height and weight, pain assessment in the electronic health record and patient self-management goals and other tasks as directed

  • Be able to produce high quality work efficiently and in an environment with changing priorities

  • Have the willingness and ability to work as part of a team and to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism

  • Candidates with prior experience working in a multiple provider medical practice or with diverse patient populations are preferred.

  • Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English are strongly preferred.

CHS is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. While the Joint Commission sets the standards for the care in hospitals, accreditation is not required for community health centers.
