Operator III (Packaging)

Job Summary

Operator III will set up and complete transfers and packaging per established procedures and guidelines. It is responsible for reviewing work orders and loading or unloading Totes, Drums, and Bulk trailers received or shipped at the Cleveland facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Fill packages (drums, totes) of various weights with liquid products received and shipped from the facility.
• Operate a forklift to weigh, transport, arrange, and store chemical totes and pallets.
• Internally transport loaded and empty material containers such as tank trucks, railcars, drums, and totes.
• Complete transfer log sheets and paperwork as required.
• Apply Labels & placards to containers before filling.
• Maintain familiarity with the safe handling, environmental regulations, and emergency response for all material in your area.
• Support housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Complete routine inspections of equipment and facilities in assigned work areas.
• Participate in plant safety processes and immediately report any unsafe conditions.
• Support and conduct the clean-out of process equipment. This will require confined space entry following the company and OSHA guidelines.
• Provide guidance and oversight of the packaging operations to help organize packaging between operations, packaging, and warehouse.
• Ensure the material being packaged follows the Packaging and Quality guidelines.
• Verify work orders & lot numbers and, correct errors as needed, and/or report problems to Supervision.
• Remain current on the requirements of the QMS and ensure that your actions support the Sharp quality policy towards continual improvement.
• Complete various basic general labor tasks when requested.
• Observe all safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience in chemical manufacturing & production, material handling, warehouse.
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
