Smoky Mountain Children's Home, a faith-based non-profit organization, is seeking Direct Care Staff for our Night Shift at the Sevierville, TN campus. In this role you would be in a position to make a positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth. You will join a team of dedicated individuals who oversee the welfare for an assigned group of at-risk youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of all children on your cottage throughout the night
  • Remain awake and alert throughout your shift
  • Serve as the Caregiver during the night shift
  • Perform bed checks on regular intervals throughout the night
  • Maintain an activity log
  • Assist residents when they awake during the night
  • Set the table with breakfast items in the morning
  • Awake residents at the assigned times in the morning
  • Walk the residents who attend the on-campus school to their classroom on school days
  • Ensure residents who attend public school get on the school bus


Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and accept supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and extensive background checks.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all job duties.
  • Must be able to perform basic housekeeping duties and prepare meals.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a caring approach.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.

Work Schedule:
  • 5 days on with 2 days off; every third week it is 4 days on with 3 days off. (Additional days may be required during long school breaks, such as during the summer months and winter break.)
  • Shift is from 10:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.


Salary Information:

$25,000 - $28,600 per year depending on the level of education attained.
