As a Mechanical Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the profitable execution of assigned projects involving HVAC, plumbing, and piping installations in commercial buildings. The Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders, contractors, and project teams to uphold the standards of quality, compliance, and ethics. From developing project schedules to managing costs and fostering positive client relationships, you'll be orchestrating project success.
What the Mechanical Project Manager Will Do:
- Lead execution teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract specifications.
- Evaluate contractual scope, prepare proposals, and negotiate settlements to ensure client satisfaction.
- Manage project finances, including cost tracking, billing, and collections, while maintaining profitability goals.
- Interpret contract terms and conditions, proactively addressing potential issues and communicating progress to management.
- Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and subcontractor activities to optimize project outcomes.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to drive project success.
- Travel to job sites as needed to oversee project progress and ensure adherence to standards.
About the Mechanical Project Manager:
- 3+ years of project management experience with commercial mechanical systems.
- A basic understanding on commercial mechanical systems functionality.
- Familiarity with plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and insulation.
- Proficiency in budget development, expense tracking, and project planning.
- Management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project stakeholders.
- Background in construction/project management, with a degree in Construction Management preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications related to project management.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Estimating experience a plus.
