Job Description

TITLE: Logistics and Warehouse Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Orlando Office Operations

MANAGER: Office Operations Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/ Hourly

LOCATION: Orlando, Florida – On-site, Full Time

3D perception is a leading provider of immersive visual display technologies and systems for advanced simulators for land, air, sea, and space applications. Formed in 1997, 3DP is a small and seasoned, employee- and customer-focused organization that fosters collaboration at all levels. 3DP is seeking motivated team members to grow their organization in Orlando, Florida.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics and Warehouse Specialist is primarily a project‐oriented role, focused on product/material shipping and receiving, with warehouse organization responsibilities. The Specialist works closely with colleagues in Finance, Operations, and Project Management to ensure optimal scheduling from suppliers and is responsible for inbound and outbound shipments according to project needs. The applicant should have knowledge of Incoterms, domestic shipping, import/export best practices, and experience in completing related documentation, scheduling, and customs clearance procedures, with exposure to bills of lading and lost/damage claims handling.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Perform incoming inspections, package, and label materials for shipments
  • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
  • Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to Finance Procurement Specialist or other associated departments as required
  • Work with freight companies, to schedule, track and process and troubleshoot internal and customer inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments
  • Resolve customs clearance obstacles
  • Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in company meetings
  • Work toward continuous quality improvement
  • Stay current with relevant shipping and logistics-oriented regulations, and best-practices
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
  • Performs other facility maintenance duties where necessary
  • Maintains organized and OSHA compliant warehouse
  • Labels and tracks both project parts and fixed assets inventory
  • Other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, cataloging processes
  • Experience with trade compliance and customs
  • Strong organizational, practical and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to problem solve quickly, multi-task and prioritize work according to importance
  • Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft 365 and Nitro PDF Pro/Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of common carrier web platforms including UPS, FedEx, and DHL

PREFERRED CANDIDATE TRAITS/ADVANTAGES

  • Solid organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Well structured, energetic, and forward looking
  • Ability to exhibit polite and professional communication via phone, e‐mail, and mail
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations pertaining to warehouse safety
  • Simulation industry experience
  • Experience with US government/defense programs as pertains to logistics
  • Experience with site security/FSO background

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current valid US driver license and passport required
  • Supply Chain Certification preferred
  • Ability to attain OSHA lift equipment certifications

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, invoices, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, bills of lading

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and apply concepts of basic mathematics and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing and walking: 1/3 to 2/3 of the time, approximately
  • Sitting: 1/3+ of the time, approximately
  • Reaching with hands and arms: 2/3+ of the time, approximately
  • Climbing or balancing: 1/3 of the time, approximately
  • Stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling: 1/3 of the time, approximately
  • Ability when necessary to operate lift equipment machinery
  • Weight lifted/force exerted: 20-50 pounds, 1/3 of the time, sometimes continuously, often overhead
  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must have clear vision near and far, with or without corrective measures
  • Local Travel: 1/6 of the time, approximately

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Environmental – There is little to no exposure to hazardous environmental conditions.
  • Noise – Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
