Jewell Instruments is searching for a driven, detail-orientated Embedded Electronics Engineer to join our growing organization. This Engineer will work alongside other Design and Manufacturing engineers to design and implement solutions to solve a variety of technical problems and develop state-of-the-art inertial measurement products.

  • Essential Responsibilities and skill requirements includes:
  • Hardware design (schematic capture, pcb layout)
  • Embedded software design and software for Manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable about Inertial sensor technologies.
  • Perform testing, debugging, and data collection on prototype digital & analog circuits.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on Products and Manufacturing Processes.
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, inertial & environmental measurement, and other common laboratory test equipment. Along with electronic components such as op-amps, LDO, transistors, standard logic, passives, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the 32 bit ARM Cortex M4 architecture, common communication types (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, USB, Ethernet), and computer languages (C, C++, Python, Visual Basic, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with 8/16/32 bit embedded microcontrollers, bare-metal & RTOS, & toolchains along with designing and implementing ISR functions, state machines, DMA, Bootloaders
  •  
  • Ability to create and document software classes, structures, functions and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of common SQL database systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or equivalent technical school and experience in embedded electronics engineering.
