Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Since 1999, Direct Service, Construction & Design has provided first class, fleet-based service, turnkey MEP services for commercial and light industrial facilities. Based in Houston, Texas, this position is part of our rapidly expanding North Texas Division and you'll be helping service our clientele within the entirety of the DFW metroplex.

Reports To: Production Manager / Dispatch Dept.

Travel Required: Travel required within the DFW area via company van/truck

Position Summary: Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of commercial power and lighting systems.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Analyze, plan, and perform preventive maintenance of Electrical Systems
• Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to Electrical Lighting, Power Systems
• Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statutes
• Perform routine service calls for repairs and replacements as well as small to midsize electrical renovations and projects
• Troubleshoot and repair safely and properly
• Driving and working safely.

Special Knowledge, Skills Abilities:

• Able to read basic electrical schematics and plans
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to install conduit and wiring
• Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Proficient with basic wiring diagrams with basic knowledge of Ohm's Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current, and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot
• Control wiring abilities for motors and equipment are a plus and would qualify an applicant for increased 'special pay' during control-related repairs or installations
• High Voltage (600v plus) abilities is a plus and would qualify an applicant for increased 'special pay' during High Voltage repairs and installations

Salary: $50,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
