• Select computer programs for applicable machines to allow assemblies to run under the correct specifications determined by the Surface Mount Programmers.
• When using the screen printers, measure the solder paste height on the printed circuit card to ensure the solder is being applied with the correct pressure. If using the glue, visually check the size of the glue dots.
• Install stencils into the printer in order to ensure the appropriate application is applied to the circuit board. This task occurs when a job is changed.
• Change component reels on the feeder when the machine runs out, in order to allow production to continue. Have this material verified prior to placement.
• Select appropriate component feeders to ensure the machine operates correctly.
• Check components in the machine with another operator, in order to verify the values are correct to allow the start of surface mount production.
• On rare occasions, place components by hand that cannot be placed by the machines in order to allow the production process to continue.
