Shifts: Day Shift Positions - 5:00am to 3:00pm

Hourly Rate: $21.50-$23.00 per hour/ DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:

The safe inspection of rail cars to ensure they are secure before transport, applying corrective actions when needed.

Essential Functions;

• Container Yard (CY Yard) Duties

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on equipment
• Maintain inventory of all boxes and chassis in the CY Yard
• Stack containers by utilizing a side loader / perform lift off and lift on’s as needed
• Locate and segregate paper grade containers and CARU containers
• Outgate and ingate containers and set ups
• Entry of moves in Depot System Software
• Wash off equipment, including gas tanks for equipment daily.

• All duties General Essential Functions

• Operate all equipment in a safe manner and in accordance to company policies
• Cross trained in all yard functions including gate inspector, CY yard, all equipment operations, perform general labor and maintenance
• Practice good hygiene, wear company uniforms and keep your equipment and breakroom clean in accordance to company policies and safety protocols
• Responsible for creating and maintaining process manuals for responsibilities in coordination with the ISW supervisor and provide at least annual updates
• Yard Duties as needed such as maintenance, upkeep and cleaning

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience:

• MUST have yard jockey or spotter experience. OR have 2+ years with a CDL-A License (driving tractor-trailers)

Education:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent

Other Requirements:

• Clear Criminal Background

• Valid, current Identification

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen & Subject to random testing

• Familiar with CFR 49 regulations
• STABLE AND VERIFIABLE WORK HISTORY A MUST-  Candidates without these will not be considered.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Yard

• Steel toe Boots required

• Ability to lift greater than 25lbs regularly

• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend frequently

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Position is outside in weather elements
